St. Philomena’s Church, built in the Gothic style, one of the largest churches of the country. Periyar Wildlife Park in Kerala is one of the most captivating wildlife parks not only in India but also in the world. Periyar is a veritable paradise of elephants.
Other inhabitants include the leopard, wild dog, barking deer, mouse deer, Nilgiri langur (a primate), bonnet macaque, sambhar, porcupines, squirrels, gaur (Indian bison), wild boar and sloth bear. The population of tigers is also increasing appreciably. |

In the morning proceed for the half day guided excursion to Gateway of India built to commemorate King George and Queen Mary's visit to India in 1911. From here proceed for the sightseeing of Elephanta Caves by motor launch.
The island of Elephanta is about 10 km from Apollo Bunder. The four rock-cut temples on the island were built between 450 and 750 AD when the island was known as Gharapuri. Destroyed somewhat by the Portuguese, the temples offer sculptures of impressive proportions and beauty. Return back in the afternoon.
In the afternoon start the city sightseeing of Mumbai covering Prince of Wales Museum. Also visit Jehangir Art Gallery located within the compound of the Prince of Wales Museum, Regular exhibitions of contemporary Indian artists are held here. In the evening you are free to visit the local market area. In the late evening you are transferred to International airport to board the flight for homeward Journey. |
