The Kuari Pass lies some 450 km north of Delhi in the Chamoli District of Garhwal, west of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. This trek takes you over three passes, through dense forests of oak, pine, rhododendron, fir and deodar, traversing bugayals - wide open meadows typical to the region which serve as high altitude summer grazing grounds - and numerous streams. En route you get truly spectacular views of the Himalaya, all the way from Trishul (23,496 ft/7,120 m) to the peaks of Kedarnath (22,994 ft/ 6,968 m) with Kamet (25,595 ft/7,756 m), Nilkanth (21,767 ft/6,596 m), Rishikot, Changabang (22,651 ft/6,864 m), Kedarnath and Chowkhamba (23,522 ft/7,128 m), to name a few. From Kuari top one gets excellent views of the legendary Nandadevi twin peaks, surrounded by its 19,800-foot (6,000 m) wall which forms a sanctuary. |

Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi you are met at the arrival lounge of the International airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel.
Late morning leave for full day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi visiting Jamia Masjid, enjoy rickshaw ride in narrow alleys of old Delhi through Kinari Bazaar and 400 years old Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, Crematory of Mahatma Gandhi, Birla Temple, Parliament House, Presidential House, India Gate, Government buildings & Humayun’s Tomb. Overnight at hotel. |

Delhi To Rishikesh (7 Hours Drive)
A long drive via Meerut, MusarfurNagar and Haridwar through the dusty plains takes you to Rishikesh situated in the laps of Shivalik hills on the bank of river Ganga. Overnight stay at hotel. |

Rishikesh To Debal (4,020 Ft/1,218 M) - 7 Hours Drive
The drive to Debal goes through the towns of Devprayag, Srinagar and Karan Prayag. Continue on to the village of Debal. Debal consists of a small cluster of huts with a population of 700 to 800 people. It is situated in a sloping narrow valley covered with terraced fields of barley, wheat and potato with the Pindar river flowing below. The camp is set by the Pindar river on open grassland. |

Debal To Wan (8,038 Ft/2,436 M) - 4 To 5 Hours Trek
The trek begins with a gradual walk through thick forests of Himalayan oak. The valley bends towards the northwest and the ridges gradually get craggier and barer. Down below is the river, winding in and out of grey boulders. Further ahead is Wan valley, where camp is set for the night. |

Wan to Kanol (8,250 Ft/2,500 M) - 6 Hours Trek
A gradual ascent through meadows and forests brings you to Kukina Khal (10,550 ft/3,197 m), the first of the three passes to be crossed. From here you get spectacular views of Trishul, Nandaghunti, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and Nilkantha. |

You can relax in camp or walk up to Munalthok where you can see a fascinating boulder on top of the ridge which reminds one of a bald head. |

Kanol to Geri (7,260 Ft/2,200 M) Trek
The trail now descends steeply to the Nandakini Valley. Enter a gorge through which the river rushes bearing the snow melt from the western glaciers of Trishul. As one looks up through the walls of the gorge, the ice-crowned buttresses of Trishul loom high, covered by silver morning mists. Cross the torrent and continue to Geri. |

Geri to Ramni - 5 To 6 Hours Trek
Traverse the northern slopes of the valley and reach the campsite, situated at the base of the pass. |

Ramni to Jinjhi (6,930 Ft/2,100 M) - 6 To 7 Hours Trek
A steep ascent through thick forest brings the trail to Chechni Binayak (9,547 ft/2,893 m).
From here one can get a clear view of the ranges of Northern Garhwal. Dominating the horizon is Kamet, to the west is Nilkantha and to the east is Mana. Descend to the northern side of the ridge through forests of oak and pine. One is now in the narrow gorge of the Birehi Ganga Valley. |

Jinjhi to Pana (8,408 Ft/2,448 M) - 4 To 5 Hours Trek
A short walk to the bridge over the Birehi Ganga, which drains the western slopes of Nandaghunti, is followed by a steep ascent and a walk through dense forest. Just beyond Pana is the lovely campsite next to a stream. |

Pana to Dhakwani (10,550 Ft/3,197 M) - 6 Hours Trek
Gradually approaching the Kuari Pass (12,573 ft/3,810 m), first ascend to a false ridge, cross the Birahi Ganga and then climb up the northern slope of the valley. It is a long hot climb. Camp is set on a grassy terrace below the Kuari Pass. Towards the South, wave upon wave of hills can be seen. |

Dhakwani to Kulra - 6 Hours Trek
Leave early in the morning to watch the sunrise. It takes about two hours to reach the Kuari Khal. At the pass, walk for 15 minutes to a high point from where you get magnificent panoramic views for which the Kuari Pass is known. Arranged in a stupendous arc lie the Himalayas - from the gorges of Trishul to the peaks of Kedarnath, Kamet's granite pyramid, Nilkanth, the square-topped summits of Ghori Parbat and Hathi Parbat and, in the east, the icy crest of Dunagiri gleaming in the sunlight. |

Kulra To Tapovan (6,517 Ft/1,975m) - 3 To 4 Hours Trek
Drive Tapovan to Joshimath - 1 hour: The trail circles around the curving meadows to the left and descends gradually to the lower parts of the grazing grounds. Then descend steeply for about four hours through rhododendron, oak and pine forests to the village of Kulari.
Cross Kulari Nallah and walk gradually along it, bypassing a number of villages and their fields. Walk for another 30 minutes along the small canal jutting out of Kulari Nallah, taking a right turn till you reach the hump overlooking the Dhauli Ganga valley, with Dunagiri right across the river and the village of Tapovan, known for its hot sulphur springs, right below, next to the road. A half-hour descent gets you to the roadhead where vehicles are waiting to drive you to Joshimath. Overnight in a simple basic hotel. |

Joshimath To Rishikesh (245 Km) - 10 Hours Drive
Drive along the Alakananda through Pipalkoti, Karanprayag, Srinagar and Devprayag where the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alakananda forms the Ganga. |

Rishikesh To Delhi - (236 Km) - 6 Hours Drive}
After breakfast depart on the 6-hours drive to Delhi. Upon arrival you will be transferred to International airport for homewards journey. |
